2021-22 A Year in Review

In the first full year of re-launching OK Cru, we are thrilled to share an update of how God has helped us meet our goals this year.

As we recap the year, check out how God has been at work in each event, community group, student update, and conference.

Our prayer this year was that God would use the Cru team at OU to raise up 10 men and 10 women to live as disciples of Jesus. What this means is that they would walk deeply with God and start the process of investing in someone else to do the same.

We believe that by helping lost students know Jesus (WIN), teaching them to disciple others (BUILD), and sending them as leaders (SEND), we can reach the campus today and the world tomorrow.

Our first step to arrive at that goal… SOW BROADLY.

Our goal was to meet as many students as possible. We meet them by tabling on campus, talking to Greek houses, and promoting Cru on Instagram. Once we meet someone, we want to invite them to be part of Cru community. We are excited that our original goal was to invite 1500 students into the community and we were able to invite over 1700 students.

OUR SECOND STEP WAS TO BUILD COMMUNITY

Community is an essential ingredient to move a student from being connected to a group like Cru to identifying as part of Cru.

Community groups, social events, and discipleship groups were key tactics for building community.

OUR THIRD STEP WAS TO HELP STUDENTS MAKE MUCH OF GOD IN THIER OWN LIFE

Before we asked students to invest in others, we wanted to help them walk deeply with God in their own life. The content at community group and discipleship combined with time allows the gospel to wash over students’ hearts and help them walk deeply with God.

OUR FOURTH STEP WAS TO START DISCIPLESHIP WITH 10 MEN AND 10 WOMEN

As students join Cru community and learn to walk deeply with God, we want to help them invest in others through discipelship. Cru’s goal is to see students disciple others for a lifetime. That starts in college. We are excited to see how our students grow in their desire to multiply their life.

As we close out the 2021-22 school year, we are excited to have 9 men that want to invest in others and over 10 women. We are grateful for how God has been at work as are trusting God to use these students to invest in others next year! We would love you to join us in prayer for that.
